Leap of Faith

Synopsis:
I met Jake when I was seventeen and at eighteen, I became his wife. The years that followed were enchanted, like a fairy tale romance.

Then, in the blink of an eye, my perfect world unraveled—I lost a part of myself and my dreams shattered around me.

At twenty-five, I was left a widow, pregnant, and mother of two.

Fast forward almost five years—I exist but I don’t “live.” I had to learn to live without him, with only our memories and my tears. I raised our children, and I lived his dream, without a thought to myself.

That is, until the day at the stoplight, when a pair of violet eyes stared back at me. In that moment, the numbness started to disappear, and lightning hit, changing my world once again.

***This is the first book in La Flor Series and can be read as a standalone.

****Contemporary Romance Novel, some material suited for ages 18 and up.

Leap of Faith is book one in my La Flor Series (The Flower Series). Behind every flower there’s a meaning and every book following this story will have their own flower with a special meaning. For Leap of Faith, the flower was the purple rose—the flower of enchantment. For book two it will be the white tulip—forgiveness.

About ML Rodriguez:
ML is a small-town Texas girl who “bleeds maroon.” Her husband’s main wish has always been to show her the world and a few years ago, his wish became a reality. ML left behind her family and beloved home-state when her husband received military orders to move. She’s currently stationed overseas with her very supportive, encouraging, and loving husband and two beautiful children—her little monsters. When she’s not writing down her “ideas,” she can be found trying to catch up on PILES of laundry and house work, hiding in her bathroom—her quiet place, volunteering, or driving her children around to their various extracurricular activities. Her obsessions include Luke Bryan, coffee, dark chocolate, the color purple, and romance novels—the happily ever after kind, of course.
After years of comments from her husband to write and a chance meeting by the city pool where she met one of her favorite authors, ML decided to take a leap of faith into the amazing and exciting world of writing. Terrified, nervous, and with a stomach full of butterflies, she published her debut novel, Leap of Faith. She’s discovered a whole new whole world and is amazed at the kindness she has been shown.
To all the wonderful people who will read her work, thank you. Thank you for taking a chance on her. ♥

 Interview With ML Rodriguez:

1.    Can you tell us a little about your book?

Leap of Faith is set in my beloved home state of Texas. The story follows Faith in her journey to heal, she raises her children, and learns love again after the loss of her husband—Jake. It’s a story of enchantment, friendship, healing, faith, and the strength of a mother’s love. There’s sadness, humor, a bit of action, some parts that may seem unrealistic, steamy scenes, but most importantly (to me) a HEA—I wanted there to be a bit of everything for the reader.

2.    Using one sentence describe Leap of Faith?

A story of love, loss, motherhood, friendship, and learning to not be afraid to love again.

3.    Do you have a release date for book two in the La Flor Series?

I have a tentative release date of December 2015 for book two.

4.    Do you have a favorite spot to write?

Yes…LOL…it drives my husband crazy that I like to sit in our two-seater couch, back facing he television, and a big fluffy pillow behind me. My legs are up on the couch and I take up the whole space.

5.    Do you have any “odd” writing habits?

I’m not sure about “odd” but I always snack on Wild Berry Skittles, have a drink around me, put headphones on and completely immerse myself into the world of my characters. I shut out the world completely that my children have to tap my shoulder in order to get my attention, so I try to write after they go to bed, when they’re in school if I have the chance, or during long gymnastic practices.

6.    Do you listen to music while you write?

Yes, I do. I put headphones on and completely shut everything else out. Each book seems to have one or two songs that inspire them. For example, this series was inspired by Como La Flor by Selena Quintanilla and Leap of Faith was inspired by Drink a Beer by Luke Bryan and Vivir Mi Vida by Marc Anthony.

7.     What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?

Random fact about myself…hmmm…I have double jointed fingers, so I can make them look unnatural.

8.    What are writing projects are you currently working on?

I’m currently finishing book two in the series and have bits and pieces scribbled down in my “ideas” notebook on my next books—Julia, Rylee, Skylar, and I have two going around in my mind.
